Why should Franklin represent me?

Congressional Candidate for New York's 22nd District

Racial Reparations

I will never vote to give one dime of your money for payment of racial reparations!

I Choose Life

I was profoundly disappointed with the recent passing of New York's Reproductive Health Act. If I am fortunate enough to be elected to the United States Congress I will be a tireless champion for life. I do not see abortion as a political issue, but a moral one. I believe that life begins at conception and its protection is necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty to us and our posterity.

I Defend the Second Amendment

Some of my earliest memories are that of my father hunting. My dad taught me the importance of responsible gun ownership. I strongly support the Second Amendment. If you send me to Washington, I pledge to fight for the right of New Yorker's and all Americans to keep and bear arms. This is the one civil liberty that goes undefended by the radical left.

Voice for Teachers and Students

In my time as a teacher, I have met some of the most hard working, dedicated, and passionate professionals in the education profession. Teachers in New York and all across our country are consistently asked to do more with less, deal with increasingly greater regulation, and they have watched the compensation gap increase between them and similarly trained and educated professionals. I am a proud member of the teachers union as well as a board member of the Johnson City Teachers Association. If you send me to Washington, I will be an unrelenting advocate for teachers, students, and local school boards.

America Needs a Strong Military

Our brave men and women serving in uniform do one of the hardest jobs on earth, and they do it with honor and distinction. We must ensure that we provide every active duty, reservist, and veteran with our full support. I am the proud father and uncle of two United States Marines. If you send me to Washington, I will fight every day to meet the obligations we have made to those who have served as well as those serving.

Fiscal Conservative

The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that by the end of next year the deficit will reach 897 billion. We are overspending year after year and our wealth and our children's prosperity is quickly draining away. We must reduce our deficit. If you send me to Washington I will make deficit reduction a top priory. You wouldn't give your children a huge credit card bill to pay off as their high school graduation present, so our children and grandchildren deserve to enjoy the same opportunity to live the American Dream. If elected, I make you this promise, I will put the needs of you and your kids above reelection.

Common Sense Environmentalist

As a life long resident of upstate New York, I am in awe of the beauty of our lakes, forests, hills, and streams. I will always fight for clean air and clean water. We can and should increase awareness of environmental issues and employ technology to help us keep America beautiful from sea to shining sea. However, I am also amazed how out of touch the Democrats are today. This "Green New Deal," is a foolish and impractical deal that we cannot afford. I admire enthusiasm, but this proposal lacks even the smallest amount of common sense. It is disappointing to see even moderate Democrats refusing to speak up in the wake of such nonsense. I want to go to Washington and be a champion for good old fashioned common sense.

The Democratic socialists promote free health care for all and free college for all, but they don't mention that someone has to pay the bill. The taxpayers can not afford to subsidize these expenses. Growing up, the American Dream meant the promise that with hard work, study, and ingenuity I would have the opportunity to prosper. The left in America is selling an American Dream that promises everything for free, and tells us not to worry (because your neighbor will be picking up the check). If you send me to Washington, I will work hard to create the opportunities for your children and grandchildren to experience prosperity by removing burdensome regulations, government intrusion, and allowing the taxpayer to keep more of the money they have worked hard for. Remember, government is not the answer to your problems, it is the problem! Together we can ensure that America will never become a socialist nation!

I Support our President

President Trump is showing tremendous leadership in the areas of trade, the economy, border security, unborn life, and North Korea! When I am elected to Congress I will support his agendas in these areas and help him strengthen our country.

Friend of Farmers

Farmers feed all of us, yet they face great obstacles each year, especially in New York. If elected to Congress I will fight for farmers in the following ways:

1. I will seek to remove unemployment insurance requirements for H-2A workers.

2. I will support funding for research and eradication of tick-borne illnesses.

3. I will be an advocate to amend General Municipal Law 247 to allow farms with conservation easements to construct necessary farm buildings and structures.

Defender of Liberty!

There is a growing movement across our nation to try to remove choice with regard to vaccination. Currently almost all states provide for some type of exemption for parents who choose not to vaccinate their children. These exemptions may be religious or philosophical. I recently had a surgery (which went very well) and I was reminded that while the risks were relatively very low, there were risks. Such is the case with vaccinations. Where risk exists, we must allow for choice! I want to be completely transparent and say that all of my children were vaccinated. I believe that parents after consultation with doctors, should be able to make this decision. Once we give government the power to force us to submit to any medical procedure, we vaccinate ourselves from liberty. If elected to Congress I will fight to ensure all of our liberties are protected. God bless you, and God bless America!

I am the Law and Order Candidate

Growing up, the father of my best friend was a New York State Trooper. He exemplified the words "duty, service, and honor." He served as a mentor to me in my formative years, always modeling honor in everything he did. Upon retirement he became a judge. Today his son serves in law enforcement, carrying on a courageous and honorable tradition. I also have a sister in law serving and protecting the great people in Binghamton. The men and women who do this difficult job, do so with the knowledge that they may be called upon any day to make the ultimate sacrifice in the call of duty. Our police officers, sheriff's deputies, and state troopers deserve our respect and every ounce of support we can muster. We do not give them anything, they earn it! If I am fortunate enough to represent this district in Congress, I will stand with these brave heroes every day!

I Oppose Identity Politics

I feel so passionately about so many issues, I understand the emotional response that can be evoked when someone takes an opposing view. However, maturity has taught me that when I stop and put aside my initial reaction, I can listen and try to understand and learn from someone else. Discussion based on mutual respect has helped me grow and evolve as a person and as leader. Believe it or not, I have friends who are Democrats, some are even "liberals." I was struck recently by how many were offended with Joe Biden for calling Vice-President Pence, "decent." If we are to make progress individually and as a nation we must learn to treat one another with decency and respect. That is why I vow to raise the level of discourse in my campaign. I will highlight my vision for America and when I disagree with my opponent I will highlight that as well. I will never attack him or one of his supporters personally. I welcome those who disagree with any of my positions to let me know, I look forward to hearing all thoughts. Let all of us model decency and compassion to our children and to our neighbors.

Supporter of a Strong and Secure Israel

It has been a little over four months since the tragic violence at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. In its wake Anti-Semitism is on the rise all across our nation. I believe America must stand with Israel. If elected, I will oppose Iranian aggression and nuclear ambition, support American assistance in Israel's national security, and support Israel's right to direct negotiations as opposed to forcing solutions upon it. A secure Israel is necessary to stability in the world. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who experienced loss in Pittsburgh and hate crimes throughout the country.
